So I recently read Singularity’s Ring after finding it on the wrong shelf at the local library. I’m always thankful for the automatic lending/returning machines, so I don’t have to overly interact with the klutzes working there.
Anyhoo… That book was the best post-singularity musing I’ve ever read.
I’ve only ever read like two singularity novels so it might not be a very well-informed statement… But it is also one of the top SF books I’ve ever read as well, mostly because of the language. Where most authors in the genre likes to technobabble wank over hundreds and hundreds of pages, and repeat fucking everything at least a hundred times, Melko’s prose was simple, clear and refreshingly free of unnecessary bullshit.
Read it, Imaginary Reader!
