Recently read two novellas (Diamond Dogs, Turquoise Days) by Alastair Reynolds in a neat little volume. Since they were pretty much awesome, I went ahead and borrowed Revelation Space. I have no illusion that I won’t be disappointed, however. I’ve never encountered an author who wrote better novels than short fiction. The shorter, the better seems to be the way it always is. In novels authors tend to repeat themselves a lot or just generally start droning.

Here’s to hoping I’m wrong.
